Short Walks: Duddo Five Stones

From the small village of Duddo, a short stroll across picturesque farmland leads you to a magnificent 4000-year-old Bronze Age stone circle positioned on a hilltop. Commanding spectacular views in all directions, the stones stand between 5-and-10 feet tall and back to around 2000 BC. Duddo Farm permits access to the stone circle which is signposted from the village and takes approximately half an hour to reach.

Step-by-step guide

1. Go through a wooden gate just to the left of the large double gates.

2. Walk along a clear broad path northwards by the field edge.

3. After a short while you will see the stones ahead of you and slightly to your left.

4. Continue along the path through another field.

5. At the end of this field, carry straight on to the stones.

6. Follow the path to the left of the stones to an information panel.

7. When you have finished, return to the start.

8. This is the end of the short walk.
