Forum Books, Corbridge

Tucked down a picturesque alleyway, opposite the historic Vicar's Pele and Parish Church, Forum Books occupies a stunning converted chapel in the heart of the market town of Corbridge. Whilst Forum Books has existed in Corbridge’s market square for over fifty years, it was in 2017 that the bookshop moved to its new home which dates back to 1867. The building retains many original architectural features including a prized pulpit, which by day serves as a children’s reading corner. Come the evening, the podium transforms into a stage for Forum’s exceptional author-led events.

As you enter the bookshop, you will notice a large sign printed with the words ‘Read On’ dominating the spacious one-room shop floor. The layout is fresh and open but packed with an eye-popping array of books showcased by theme, genre and subject. The high ceilings and an abundance of natural light flooding through the chapel’s lancet windows add to an enthusing space that actively encourages discovery.  It is not only the space that inspires, the staff do too. Eclectic, original and endlessly enthusiastic about the printed word – Forum’s staff are wildly passionate about getting the right book into the right hands.
